Drawing, painting, oil painting, photograph, statue, figurine, mosaic . . . the list of art goes on. Call it what you want . . . each has a value ranging from a few dollars, to thousands of dollars, to priceless. In each case we take special care to ensure the proper packaging along with the appropriate shipping for safe delivery of your artwork or antiques.
Pak Mail Fort Wayne has been packing and shipping for artists, galleries, museums, auction houses, antique dealers, and interested individuals since 1998. Whether the paint is still wet on the canvas or the artwork is a family heirloom, our customers rely on our experience to protect it with proper packaging. We strive to develop a relationship with our customers which translates to handling the artwork or antique as if it were our own.
We use a variety of materials depending on what is appropriate to ensure good packing. A common process is to wrap any glass with packing bubble. When a picture is covered with glass, glass mask is used to protect the photograph or artwork that lay underneath. We have two different sizes of bubble which we use as needed. If the item has a wood, or similar surface, we will use foam wrap to protect the finish before wrapping the item in bubble. In addition we use a generous supply of packing peanuts to create a cushioning barrier. We use only quality boxes made for shipping and if we do not have a specific box size we can custom make a box. When needed we build wooden crates for shipment throughout the USA and internationally.
Pak Mail Fort Wayne is proud of its packing abilities and its record of delivery without damage. In the unlikely event of damage or loss, Pak Mail has value coverage available to its customers to cover the value of the artwork. We have the support of our Pak Mail corporate value coverage in addition to any coverage the shipping service may offer. A few things we ask our customers to do before shipping highly valuable pieces:
- Keep purchase receipts or appraisals as evidence of value.
- If there is no evidence indicating value, seek to have it documented in some fashion such as a quotation for a similar item, listing in a publication, or an appraisal.
- Take several pictures of the item to document its condition.
